About The Role

Job Title: Manager Legal (Non-Property) Job Purpose: · To be a part of the core legal department. · Provide legal advice and assistance to all verticals of the business in India. · Drafting and negotiating legal agreements and documents. · Work closely with cross-functional teams to align to the project timelines. · Highlight legal risks. Key Deliverables (Essential functions & Responsibilities of the Job) : · Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a broad range of agreements, vendor contracts, warehousing, IT, appointment contracts, services agreements, procurement, subcontracts, indemnity bonds, confidentiality agreements and consultancy agreements. · General Legal Advice - Reviewing of marketing material, Terms of Use, policies including for online business, SOPs, terms of various promotions and contests. · Handling litigation, liaising with outside counsels for the same and providing supporting documents from internal stakeholders. · Regulatory Governance - Updating business of changes in applicable laws and ensuring implementation of required changes. · Ensuring legal compliance under all applicable law including, companies Act, legal metrology, FDI, E-commerce, drugs and cosmetics, BIS and environmental laws. · Supporting business on special projects. · Preparing and maintaining various MIS/trackers. · Supporting functional automation projects and contract lifecycle management of legal documents. · Work closely with the business, and other corporate functions, on a daily basis, in understanding the business & commercial requirements when considering legal terms & conditions. · Supporting business for providing options on agreements and statutory provisions. · Tracking statutory changes and implementation of new laws. · Responsible for Replying to notices and/or drafting of notices to vendors, developers, statutory authorities and customer. Key Skills: · Possess a very good understanding of commercial and contract terms · Possess a good understanding of the compliance issues facing international listed companies · Maintain a creative and pragmatic approach to problem-solving. · Be able to work as part of a team, but also able to work independently and take the lead when necessary · Prioritise good client relations and flexibility. · Be well-organized, hard-working and able to meet challenging deadlines · Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Qualification: · Should be registered to practice law in India, with at least 8-10 years’ PQE. · Experience as in-house counsel in retail/similar industry or law firm preferred. · Be fluent in reading, writing and communicating in English.
