About The Role

The  Maintenance Journeyman  performs all of the electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical repairs and maintenance to the equipment.   It is a multi-craft position that requires mechanical, maintenance, carpenter, plumbing, welding, and electrical skills. 

The Maintenance Journeyman will

  • Install, repair, erect, dismantle and assemble all types of plant machinery and electrical or electronic equipment and component parts (such as motors, switches, control boards, PLCs VFDs, generators, circuit breakers, etc.)
  • Inspect glass forming machines and miscellaneous factory operating machines, related parts and components
  • Makes line repair adjustments to glass forming machines
  • Weld, braze, scrape, solder and cut various types of metals necessary for maintenance repairs and fabrication of new components and equipment
  • Determines cause of breakdown or required repairs, reconditioning or replacements

The Maintenance Journeyman should have

  • Experience installing, maintaining and troubleshooting various types of industrial machinery
  • Experience reading blue prints, wiring diagrams, shop hand books and layouts
  • Experience completing routine reports and correspondence
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • High School degree or GED
  • Journeyman card required (Maintenance or Electrical)
  • Must have maintenance experience in an industrial environment, including electrical, pipefitting, and metal fabricating
  • Previous glass industry experience is preferred
  • Must be able to pass our maintenance journeyman written test
  • Basic PC literacy (Word, email, basic data entry)
  • Able to lift 40 lbs. on a regular basis
  • Must be able to work a 12-hour rotating shift, which includes weekends and holidays
