About The Role
We are seeking a driven and highly capable Medical Receptionist/Practice Manager to independently run the day-to-day operations of a busy and growing Fertility and Gynaecology practice. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive healthcare professional to establish and refine operational systems, policies, and procedures to support continued growth — and to put their own stamp on how the practice runs.
Working closely with the Specialist, you will take full ownership of practice operations, patient experience, compliance, and business performance, managing the practice largely on your own.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently oversee the daily operations of a busy specialist practice
- Manage front-of-house and medical reception functions, including patient scheduling and patient flow
- Oversee billing, Medicare processing, private health fund administration, and item number claiming
- Develop, implement and continually improve practice policies, procedures and workflows
- Monitor and improve operational efficiency and productivity
- Maintain compliance with healthcare legislation, accreditation standards and privacy requirements
- Liaise with external providers, hospitals, laboratories and key stakeholders
- Once established and settled into the role, partner with our Specialists to identify opportunities for more efficient processes

Applications will only be considered from candidates who meet the following criteria
 
- Medical receptionist experience in a medical or specialist practice setting
- Strong working knowledge of billing and claiming, including Medicare item numbers
- Proven ability to work independently and autonomously , with minimal supervision
- Adaptable , resilient and solutions-focused, with the right attitude to take real ownership of the role
- Highly organised with strong time management and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Preferred (not essential)
- Previous experience as a Practice Manager, ideally within a specialist medical practice
- Experience developing, implementing and maintaining operational policies and procedures
- Advanced proficiency with medical practice management software systems
Highly Desirable
- Previous experience within Fertility, IVF, Women's Health or Obstetrics & Gynaecology
- Understanding of fertility treatment pathways and patient care journeys
- Experience managing growth, change or practice expansion projects
