Purpose and Scope This role resides in the General Ledger department, under Finance Shared Services, reporting to the Assistant Manager/Manager, GLSS. Assist to close accounts for a list of intermediate holding and active operating companies, accurately and timely in accordance with SFRS. The role is also expected to support finance transformation by applying digital tools, data analytics and AI-enabled solutions to improve closing efficiency, strengthen review controls, enhance exception analysis and support more insightful financial reporting. Key Role & Responsibilities 1. Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities Closing of accounts which include timely preparation of monthly journal entries and the reconciliation of the accounts and related schedules. Prepare & park/upload journal entries into SAP Submission of monthly, quarterly, yearly accounts to Tagetik for Group consolidation, including necessary disclosures Prepare monthly audit schedules and clear balance sheet items Complete SAP Open item clearing and update of assignments within the month Prepare monthly bank reconciliation include liaising with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable to clear outstanding unreconciled items. Daily PATMI updates Prepare Non Audit Service (NAS), Interested Party Transactions (IPT) reporting and statistics. Prepare of tax schedules Prepare monthly/quarterly GST report and ensure correct GST treatment and timely submission to IRAS. Fixed assets and inventory accounting eg. E-capex form processing, creation of asset number in SAP, passing of relevant asset accounting journals, Fixed asset reconciliation and reporting, Project tracking and capitalization, Inventory reconciliation and assist in stock-take exercise Prepare financial statements 2. Investigate exceptions, unusual transactions, and accounting anomalies which require business understanding and coordination with multiple stakeholders. 3. Support implementation activities, user acceptance testing (UAT), and process stabilization for new systems and regulatory requirements. 4. Identify opportunities to apply AI and automation within general ledger processes, including journal review, balance sheet clearing, reconciliation monitoring, variance analysis and financial reporting etc 5. Participate in digital transformation and continuous improvement initiatives, including the adoption of AI-enabled tools and automation to improve general ledger processes, reporting accuracy and operational efficiency. Qualification & Experience 1) Minimum Diploma in accounting or equivalent 2) At least 5 years of prior experience in General Ledger with knowledge in (i) SAP (preferred) or other similar ERP system (ii) Tagetik (TGK) or other Group consolidation (will be an advantage) 3) Good interpersonal and communication skills 4) Detail-oriented and ability to work in a fast-paced environment 5) Fast learner and proactive 6) Ability to adapt and learn quickly, meeting tight deadlines 7) A collaborative team player 8) Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with willingness to use digital tools such as Power Query, Power Automate, Microsoft Copilot or other AI-enabled finance tools to improve productivity and reporting quality. 9) Continuous improvement mindset with interest in simplifying manual processes, improving controls and enhancing finance service delivery through digital and AI-enabled solutions Our Culture at Sembcorp At Sembcorp, our culture is shaped by a strong set of shared behaviours that guide the way we work and uphold our commitment to driving the energy transition.
