About The Role
Job Overview
- The Stock Manager’s responsibility is to manage the stock supervisors and other employees who
- maintain supplies and products inventories within the warehouse. They will be expected to
- perform daily checks on all stock areas within the warehouse, and manage all stock related
- issues/queries. Ensuring that financial objectives are met and that all aspects are running smoothly
- at all times. To be responsible for and answer to any stock related issues.
Responsibilities

Typical Activities
- ● Regular stock take

- ● Ensuring the stock areas are neat and well organized
- ● Record keeping
- ● Reporting on predicted versus actual quantities and being held accountable for any stock

- ● Reporting into Operations and Finance
- ● Planning and optimizing space utilization
- ● General inspections of quality (expiry dates, product details, product quality)
- ● Identifying slow-moving, non-usable or excess stock
- ● Investigating, reporting and providing reasons for short/ missing stock

Requirements
- ● Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a stock management, warehouse, or inventory control
- role (experience in fresh foods or FMCG environments is advantageous).
- ● Proven experience supervising or managing a team within a warehouse or stock
- environment.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- ● Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) and/or Google Workspace.
- ● Hands-on experience with inventory management systems and ERP software.
- ● Strong understanding of stock control processes, inventory accuracy, and best practices
- (e.g., FIFO, stock rotation, cycle counts).
- ● Attention to Detail
- ● Strong ability to identify discrepancies, monitor stock quality, and enforce standards.
- ● High level of accuracy when processing stock data, counts, and reports.
- ● Ability to investigate and resolve stock variances efficiently.
- ● Organizational & Problem-Solving Skills
- ● Excellent planning and organizational abilities to manage stock flow and storage.
- ● Proactive problem-solver, able to address challenges such as stock shortages, delayed
- deliveries, or system errors.
- ● People Management Skills
- ● Hands-on management of stock team performance, productivity, and scheduling.
- ● Ability to train and guide staff on stock control procedures and company policies.
- ● Comfortable working with various departments (procurement, operations, logistics).
- ● Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle operational challenges effectively.
- ● Experience handling disciplinary matters and maintaining team accountability.
- ● Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- ● Ability to report clearly on stock levels, discrepancies, and operational issues.
