About The Role
Hayfin is seeking a bright and motivated individual to join the Luxembourg office (city centre) as an Assistant Finance Manager. The ideal candidate will play an integral role supporting a fast‑paced and growing alternative asset management firm. This office‑based position involves supporting the Luxembourg Finance team in overseeing financial reporting, accounting, and regulatory deliverables performed by third‑party service providers for SPVs and funds domiciled in Luxembourg. Additionally, the Assistant Finance Manager will support cash management, deal closing processes, and operational matters affecting the SPVs and funds. The role reports directly to the Luxembourg Finance Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor for completion and review periodic and annual accounts prepared under Lux GAAP, US GAAP, and IFRS.
- Monitor for completion and review regulatory reporting (e.g., FATCA/CRS, BCL).
- Provide oversight and support across accounting, audit, tax, legal, and SPV/fund service providers, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and full compliance with requirements.
- Coordinate and support the preparation of CIT, VAT, WHT, and subscription tax returns, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
- Resolve local accounting, reporting, and operational issues with a solutions‑oriented mindset.
- Contribute to operational excellence by supporting key initiatives and managing ad‑hoc projects to ensure smooth functioning of all Luxembourg entities.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with third‑party service providers and regulators.
Requirements
Degree in Accounting, Economics, or Finance (ACCA or similar qualification is an asset).
At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in Luxembourg.
Experience with Luxembourg fund accounting service providers, alternative investment companies, AIFMs, or similar organizations is preferred.
Strong understanding of Luxembourg fund structures (RAIF, SCSp) and SPVs and familiarity with a range of alternative asset strategies.
Strong knowledge of IFRS and Lux GAAP.
Proficiency with the Luxembourg regulatory environment, including AIFMD.
Experience in fund administration, including NAV calculation, transfer agency, and investor servicing.
Detail‑oriented, analytical, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple deliverables.
Knowledge of Luxembourg tax and regulatory reporting (FATCA/CRS, BCL, etc.).
Fluent in English, both written and spoken; other European languages are an advantage.
Excellent communication skills for coordinating with both internal and external stakeholders.
