About the role

Join #TeamMB as our Data & Analytics Lead within the Digital & Technology Team in our Melbourne office. This newly created, full‑time permanent role is a key senior individual contributor position, where you will shape and lead enterprise-wide analytics initiatives. You’ll act as a strategic advisor to drive data‑informed decision-making across the organisation, while mentoring and uplifting capability within the analytics team to strengthen our data-driven culture.

In this role, you will

Deliver executive‑level analytics, insights, and recommendations that shape strategic decision‑making.

Translate complex data into compelling, actionable presentations for senior leaders.

Lead the evolution of enterprise BI and influence data architecture direction across the firm.

Champion data quality, governance and a unified “single source of truth” culture.

Apply advanced analytical thinking to solve ambiguous problems and innovate in data‑sparse environments.

Partner with stakeholders to uplift data literacy and embed analytics into business decision‑making, bridging the gap between technical analysis and business language.

Build strong cross‑functional relationships and proactively identify opportunities where analytics can create business value — before you're asked.

Contribute to team capability, support key priorities, and maintain ongoing professional development.

The experience we are looking for

5+ years’ experience in a hands‑on analytical or commercial role, with a track record of delivering meaningful insights that have influenced real business decisions.

Tertiary qualification in Economics, Business, Finance, Engineering, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline.

Strong technical proficiency across SQL, Power BI, Qlik, and Excel – with the ability to own the full analytics life cycle from end-to-end, from raw data to executive recommendation.

Exceptional analytical and problem‑solving capability with a track record of generating meaningful, high‑impact insights.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex analytics and present clear, logical recommendations to senior leaders and non‑technical audiences – you’re as comfortable in a boardroom as you are in a database.

Proven ability to work effectively in, and lead, cross‑functional teams, driving collaboration and shared outcomes.

Demonstrates accountability, ownership, and a commitment to delivering high‑quality results.

Adept at resolving business challenges even when data is limited, applying creativity and resourcefulness.

Continuously strives for improvement and excellence, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance performance.
