2D/Concept Artist - KingsIsle (Cebu - onsite)

KingsIsle Entertainment is seeking a 2D Concept Artist who will work closely with the Art Director to come up with fun and creative characters and environments in our classic MMO projects as well as interesting new projects that are in the works. The perfect candidate is experienced in 2D digital painting and can use their art to clearly communicate ideas. They will also need to take into consideration what information the other artists down the line will need and construct the concepts appropriately.

About the Role

• Create 2D art assets including character designs, environment art, and UI elements
• Work closely with the game development team to ensure art assets are aligned with gameplay and technical requirements
• Develop concept art using sketches and digital painting tools
• Create and maintain style guides and art pipelines for projects
• Undergo review stages of the concepts and further polish works as requested by Art Director
• Understand and follow established deadlines and schedules for art production
• Keep organized and well labeled files and maintain / work within an established file structure
• Maintain a high level of quality and consistency in art assets
• Ability to adapt to various styles and techniques depending on the product being worked on
• Other related duties as assigned

Requirements

2+ years creating professional Concept and 2D assets in the game industry

Extensive working knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator

Familiarity with 2D animation is a plus

Knowledge of composition, color, and lighting principles

Experience working collaboratively with other artists and development teams

Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask requirements and feedback gathering across disciplines, assess risk, define priorities, and resolve problems while meeting deadlines

Excellent critical and analytical skills, and a high attention to detail

Experience working with the Unity engine

Strong English written and verbal communication

• The ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment while remaining calm and positive under pressure and meet tight deadlines at all times.
• Must have excellent attention to detail, accuracy, use good artistic judgment, prioritization skills and be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
• High degree of professionalism and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work night shifts in order to overlap in US working hours and interact live with US based studio.
