About The Role
Office Location: Portage, MI (hybrid)
Employment Type: Full-time regular (40 hours per week; M-F)
Your Role at Walker
In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees. This role requires a strong attention to detail, knowledge of payroll regulations, and proficiency in payroll software.
Responsibilities
- Review timesheets and process payroll accurately for hourly and salaried employees.
- Maintain accurate employee payroll records, including personal information, tax withholdings, deductions, and benefits.
- Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, deductions, and benefits.
- Maintain payroll files and records in accordance with company policy and legal requirements.
- Assist with payroll audits and reconciliations.
- Utilize payroll software to process payroll and generate reports.
- Collaborate with HR and other departments to ensure accurate payroll data.
Qualifications
Education Requirements
An associate's degree is preferred.
Other Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience in Payroll, Accounting or Finance.
- 1+ year of data entry experience preferred, ideally in payroll or accounting.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Work Environment
This role typically operates in an office environment, with occasional travel required for meetings or training sessions.
A hybrid (2-3 days per week in the office) schedule is available after initial training and onboarding.
