This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Artiste de niveau senior/Senior Level Artist based in Canada.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Level Artist to contribute to the creation of high-quality AAA game environments in a fully remote <setting.You> will transform artistic direction and level design requirements into compelling, playable spaces using Unreal Engine.The role combines environment composition, world geometry, modular workflows, proxy asset creation, and narrative set <dressing.You>’ll collaborate closely with Concept Art, Environment Art, Technical Art, Level Design, Animation, and other creative disciplines.Your work will directly influence the visual quality, atmosphere, and player experience of ambitious action <games.You>’ll also have opportunities to explore new techniques, improve workflows, and contribute to R&D initiatives.This is a strong fit for an experienced artist who enjoys creative problem-solving, collaboration, and pushing their craft forward.

Accountabilities

  • Create and deliver playable levels that align with artistic direction, level design requirements, and established quality standards.
  • Build world geometry, level composition, modular environments, and initial/proxy materials in Unreal Engine.
  • Create, adapt, and redesign existing assets to support new forms, environments, and gameplay needs.
  • Develop blockouts, modules, proxy assets, and early-stage level elements to establish the foundation of playable spaces.
  • Apply narrative set dressing and artistic principles to create cohesive, engaging, and visually compelling environments.
  • Deliver work according to specifications, production schedules, and established workflow requirements.
  • Participate in reviews and proactively incorporate feedback from leads and peers while maintaining a professional and collaborative approach.
  • Collaborate with Level Design, Environment Art, Technical Art, Animation, Concept Art, Character Art, and other teams to solve artistic and technical challenges.
  • Contribute to research and development initiatives by exploring new techniques and helping improve pipelines, tools, and workflows.
  • Maintain high standards of visual quality while adapting to evolving project requirements, styles, and production priorities.

Requirements

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating playable levels, created geometry, and high-quality environment work.
  • At least 3 years of experience in AAA console/PC game development, including at least 1 year of experience working with Unreal Engine.
  • Hands-on experience with Unreal Engine and strong understanding of modular environment workflows.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard 3D software such as Maya, 3ds Max, Blender, ZBrush, and Photoshop, or equivalent tools.
  • Strong understanding of traditional art principles and foundational design concepts, including composition, layout, shape, form, texture, value, color, and lighting.
  • Ability to interpret artistic concepts and creatively develop ideas beyond the initial direction.
  • Experience with narrative set dressing and creating environments that support storytelling.
  • Knowledge of PBR shaders and normal-map workflows.
  • Ability to adapt to new visual styles, techniques, tools, and production workflows.
  • Strong ability to receive, understand, and implement constructive feedback.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple disciplines.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Experience with Unreal Engine 4/5, environment modeling, traditional art, graphic design, or level design is considered an advantage.
