About The Role
Operating beyond the scope of conventional services or solutions engineering, Deployment Strategists function as embedded technical advisors. You will manage the entire spectrum of customer outcomes, initiating with deep discovery and investigative work and culminating in the design, integration, deployment, and long-term enablement of the customer.This position sits at the intersection of analytical rigor, financial services expertise, and strategic customer partnership. You will engage directly with banks and other financial institutions to understand their operational goals, risk requirements, investigative needs, and compliance challenges, developing bespoke workflows that allow organizations to leverage Chainalysis independently.Your impact hinges on strong investigative instincts, technical proficiency, an understanding of financial crime and compliance within banking, and the ability to build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders. Japanese language fluency is required, both spoken and <written.In> this role, you’ll:Own end-to-end customer engagements with banks and financial institutions, from discovery through investigation, solution design, deployment, enablement, and ongoing value deliveryPartner directly with banks and financial institutions to understand investigative, intelligence, compliance, fraud, AML, and operational objectives and translate them into actionable outcomesDesign, build, and maintain custom workflows, notebooks, dashboards, queries, and data models using Chainalysis data and productsEnable customers to operate solutions independently, building internal capability and embedding Chainalysis into their operational infrastructureAct as the primary technical and domain advisor for customers, building trusted relationships through hands-on expertise and credibilityDeliver live training, demonstrations, investigative walkthroughs, and technical briefings to both technical and non-technical audiencesSupport pre-sales technical engagement for complex and strategic financial services opportunities, helping customers understand what is possible and how to achieve itCollaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Global Intelligence, and Sales to influence the roadmap and improve offerings based on customer and market intelligenceDevelop and share financial services domain expertise, investigative techniques, and best practices that raise the capability of the wider teamWe’re looking for candidates who have:Professional experience working directly with banks, financial institutions, or other financial services organizationsFluency in both spoken and written JapaneseConducted or directly supported cryptocurrency investigations, blockchain intelligence, financial crime analysis, AML, compliance, fraud, or related work in an operational environmentStrong understanding of how banks and financial institutions manage financial crime, compliance, risk, investigations, and digital asset exposureDeep familiarity with blockchain ecosystems, including BTC, ETH, stablecoins and DeFi, and how on-chain data can be used within financial crime, compliance, risk, or investigative workflowsDelivered customer-facing technical solutions, whether investigative outputs, data products, or analytical workflows, in complex real-world environmentsBuilt insights from large or complex datasets and communicated findings to varied audiences, from analysts to senior banking executivesOperated successfully in fast-paced, ambiguous environments requiring ownership, adaptability, and sound judgmentRequired Skills:Technical SkillsProficiency in Python and SQL for data analysis, transformation, and solution developmentExperience building notebooks, dashboards, and analytical workflowsSolid understanding of data modelling, querying, and working with large datasetsAbility to quickly develop deep expertise in Chainalysis data structures, schemas, and productsFinancial Services & Domain ExpertiseSubstantive experience working with banks or financial institutions is a mustExperience in one or more relevant domains, such as AML, financial crime investigations, fraud, sanctions and compliance, risk, cybercrime, or digital asset complianceUnderstanding of how banks and financial institutions operate, including their investigative workflows, regulatory environment, risk frameworks, and stakeholder structuresAbility to apply financial services and domain expertise to shape investigative approaches, solution design, and customer advisoryStrong understanding of how blockchain intelligence and digital asset data can support banking, compliance, risk, and financial crime objectivesCustomer & Communication SkillsProven ability to build trusted, long-term relationships with banking and financial services customers through technical and domain credibilityExcellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex investigative and data concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholdersFluent Japanese communication skills, both written and verbalComfortable leading customer sessions, workshops, training, and technical working groupsExperience enabling and upskilling customer teams, not just delivering outputs but building long-term customer capabilityAbility to communicate effectively with senior banking, compliance, risk, AML, and financial crime stakeholdersAI at ChainalysisAI is not a feature at Chainalysis - it is a new way of working.
