About The Role
Duties
A Technical Officer (Electrical) is mainly deployed on (i) preparing Electrical drawings and charts with computer, making engineering calculations and designs relating to minor Electrical engineering works, undertaking occasional site engineering measurements; (ii) assisting in the preparation of equipment price schedules and cost estimates, inputting computer programmes and data, checking documents submitted by contractors; (iii) preparing planned maintenance programme for plant and equipment and assisting in related work; and (iv) acquiring computer hardware/software and providing technical support on IT matters.
(He/she may be required to work in remote areas, work irregular hours or shifts.)
Entry Requirements
Candidates should have (a) a Diploma or Higher Certificate in Electrical Engineering from a Hong Kong polytechnic/polytechnic university or the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education/technical institute/technical college, or equivalent (Note 1); (b) met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent (Note 2) ; and (c) a pass result in the Basic Law and National Security Law Test (BLNST) (Note 3).

Pay
Master Pay Scale Point 9 ($25,620 per month) to Master Pay Scale Point 22 ($50,215 per month)
Terms of Appointment
A new recruit will normally be appointed on civil service probationary terms for three years. Upon passage of probation bar, he/she may be considered for appointment on the prevailing permanent terms.
