About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated US Tax Accountant to join our team full-time. This is a 100% remote position perfect for a professional with established tax preparation experience who is eager to find a long-term home and build a career in the tax field.

The ideal candidate has at least two tax seasons under their belt, is proficient in QuickBooks Online, and has hands-on experience preparing a variety of U.S. individual and business tax returns. More importantly, we are looking for someone with a strong desire to learn, grow, and commit to our team for the long haul.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review U.S. federal and state tax returns for individuals (Form 1040).
  • Prepare and review U.S. federal and state tax returns for businesses, including C-Corporations (Form 1120), S-Corporations (Form 1120-S), and Partnerships (Form 1065).
  • Prepare tax returns for trusts and estates (Form 1041).
  • Manage client bookkeeping, clean-up, and adjustments using QuickBooks Online.
  • Assist in generating financial reports from QBO to support tax preparation.
  • Maintain accurate, organized client files and documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure deadlines are met.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: A minimum of two (2) completed tax seasons of hands-on tax preparation experience.
  • Tax Forms: Proven experience preparing Forms 1040, 1120, 1120-S, and 1065. Experience with Form 1041 is also required.
  • Software: High proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
  • Attributes: Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
