About The Role

We currently have exciting opportunities for casual Grade 2 Speech Pathologists to join our team at Epworth Geelong, based in Waurn Ponds.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to work across a diverse hospital caseload, delivering high-quality, patient-centred assessment, management and intervention for inpatients and outpatients experiencing swallowing, communication and cognitive impairments. You'll be part of a supportive multidisciplinary team dedicated to achieving the best outcomes for our patients.

You will make an impact with your

  • Ability to assess and evaluate patients in relation to communication and swallowing abilities and upon diagnosis determine appropriate treatment
  • Strong knowledge within the assessment and management of swallowing and communication disorders and how these can have a direct impact on a patient’s overall health and quality of life
  • Ability to provide evidence-based, patient-centred care
  • Ability to work collaboratively and confidently within the multidisciplinary team
  • Strong time-management, problem solving and prioritisation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

To be successful in the role, you will have

  • Demonstrate relevant hospital experience (preferred)
  • Present with experience in tracheostomy management (desired)
  • Be experienced in administering and interpreting Videofluoroscopy Assessment and/or Fibreoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of the swallow
