MH Clinical Informatics and Quality Specialist

About The Role
- Position Summary: Uses knowledge of clinical information and computer science to manage and
- communicate data, information, and knowledge, as well as improve clinical practice.
- Assists in the design, development, and implementation of computerized healthcare
- systems. Supports human-computer and human-technology interactions for patients and
- staff. Develop strategies and procedures for modifying information technology to best
- support clinicians.
- Responsible for supporting the performance improvement program to meet the needs of
- the organization. Provides education to medical staff, departmental staff and Governing
- Body as needed. Facilitates performance improvement activities and CQI activities
- throughout the organization. Acts as a resource person to administrative team,
- department managers and medical staff. Assists department managers with preparation
- for committees. Assists with regulatory body surveys, e.g., the accrediting organization,
- State Licensing Review, CMS Validation surveys.
Requirements
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience Required
- Registered Nurse license and 2 years of clinical experience in direct patient care or Licensed Practical Nurse license and 5 years of clinical experience in direct patient care.
- Two (2) years previous technology (EMR, Microsoft, Excel) experience
Education and/or Experience Preferred
- Two ( 2 ) years or more experience in Quality Management including quality reporting, interoperability, and data driven performance improvement
- Experience in a critical access hospital, rural health clinic, or small healthcare organization
Project coordination or change management experience
- CPHQ certification
- Healthcare Informatics Degree
Certificates, Licensure, Registrations
- Current Nebraska Registered or Licensed Practical Nurse License
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Previous experience supporting or working in EMR systems in healthcare setting.
- Strong communication and training skills with the ability support clinical and non-clinical users.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze workflows, solve problems, and support process improvements.
- Understanding of HIPAA privacy, security standards, and healthcare regulatory requirements.
