We are seeking a skilled Health and Safety Specialist to review, evaluate, and enhance safety standards across Correctional Industries and institutional environments. In this dynamic position, you will design and implement crucial programs to prevent disease and injury, conduct comprehensive OSHA compliance inspections, and deliver essential safety education to protect staff and residents alike. Key Responsibilities Compliance Oversight: Conduct OSHA-regulated workplace inspections, ensuring strict adherence to federal, state, and agency health and safety regulations. Hazard Mitigation Prevention: Evaluate physical, biological, chemical, and ergonomic hazards; recommend corrective actions and protective measures. Accident Investigation: Investigate workplace incidents to identify root causes and implement effective preventive solutions. Training Education: Develop and lead engaging safety education programs, demonstrating proper safety equipment usage and emergency procedures. Program Management: Maintain detailed inspection records, update emergency response plans, and audit fire prevention and first-aid readiness. What We Are Looking For Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of OSHA rules, regulations, safety standards, and chemical safety principles. Problem Solving Analysis: Strong ability to identify potential hazards, analyze complex situations, and apply general rules to solve workplace safety challenges. Communication Instruction: Excellent active listening, oral, and written communication skills; proven capability in curriculum design and training instruction. Attention to Detail: Keen perception for detecting subtle patterns, risks, or compliance deviations in distracting environment settings.
