About The Role

Job Description: Manager - Utility Cell Line Location: Buti Bori, Nagpur Company: AVPL Key Responsibilities: Operations & Maintenance: Oversee the daily operations and maintenance activities of the utility cell line, including power generation, water treatment, compressed air systems, cooling towers, steam, and other related utilities. Team Management: Lead and manage a team of engineers, technicians, and operators, ensuring effective coordination and performance. Mentor and develop team members to ensure continuous improvement in both technical and operational skills. Troubleshooting & Problem Solving: Provide technical support and guidance to resolve issues in utility systems. Conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures or inefficiencies and implement corrective actions. Process Optimization: Continuously monitor utility systems and recommend measures to optimize efficiency, minimize downtime, and reduce operational costs. Implement best practices to improve overall system performance. Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with all local, state, and national regulatory requirements concerning utility operations. Monitor adherence to safety protocols and take proactive steps to mitigate risks. Budget & Resource Management: Manage operational budgets for the utility cell line. Plan, allocate, and optimize resources effectively to meet operational goals within the allocated budget. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of operations, maintenance, and performance metrics. Prepare regular reports for senior management detailing system performance, operational challenges, and recommendations for improvement. Project Management: Lead and participate in utility-related projects, such as equipment upgrades, new installations, or process improvements, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with internal stakeholders (e.g., production, engineering, and safety departments) and external vendors to ensure smooth utility operations and resolve any issues. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications will be an added advantage. Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in managing utility systems (steam, power, water treatment, compressed air, etc.) in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Experience in a leadership role within utility operations is highly preferred. Skills & Knowledge: Strong understanding of utility systems, their components, and operation. Hands-on experience with troubleshooting and maintaining utility equipment. Knowledge of safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality management. Proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other relevant tools. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities to address complex operational challenges. Additional Requirements: Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Willingness to work flexible hours, including on-call duty for emergencies. Proactive in identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
