Environment and Sustainability Analyst

Role: Environment and Sustainability Analyst Location: IBC Knowledge Park, Bangalore Reporting to: Sustainability Lead Team Name: Operations About the Team and the Role The Operations team at Ather is responsible for managing manufacturing facilities, implementing EHS and ESMS guidelines, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving environmental sustainability initiatives across all locations. This role is for an Environment and Sustainability Analyst who will oversee sustainability performance data tracking, ESG MIS maintenance, regulatory and EPR compliance, site audits, and employee sustainability training programs. Responsibilities Engage regularly with site EHSS teams to implement environmental guidelines, ESMS frameworks, and sustainability initiatives across facilities. Collect, track, and analyze sustainability metrics according to SOPs to support GRI, BRSR, and Impact reporting. Maintain and update the ESG Management Information System (MIS) to provide management with timely data insights, trend analysis, and escalations. Ensure strict compliance with Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) obligations, Pollution Control Board regulations, and evolving environmental statutory requirements. Conduct regular site audits at manufacturing facilities and other locations to monitor ESMS compliance and verify adherence to guidelines. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to design and execute corrective action plans when performance gaps are identified. Assist in developing and delivering EHS and sustainability training programs for employees to foster a sustainable work culture. Maintain comprehensive records, statutory filings, and program documentation in accordance with institutional and regulatory guidelines. Experience and Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science / Engineering 3 to 5 years of industry experience in industrial - Environment / Sustainability Must Have Competencies Understanding of sustainability principles, frameworks, and reporting standards including GRI, BRSR, ESMS, ESAP, IFC Performance Standards, and ISO 26000 Ability to perform sustainability data collection, trend analysis, metric interpretation, and ESG MIS reporting Knowledge of environmental statutory regulations, Pollution Control Board mandates, and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) compliance management Capability to audit, assess, and enforce Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS) guidelines across manufacturing and operational facilities Good to Have Competencies Knowledge of occupational health and safety standards, including ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and OHSAS frameworks Possession of industry certification in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Understanding of Industry 4.0 concepts and digital competency for environmental data tracking and analysis Ability to apply project management methodology to support, execute, and monitor organizational sustainability and EHS projects Want to know more?
