About The Role
Role: Teamcenter Administrator Location: Bengaluru Reporting to: PLM Manager / IT Manager Team name: Corporate IT / PLM Team About the Team and the Role The Corporate IT / PLM Team team at Ather is responsible for ensuring the health, security, and performance of the organization's Siemens Teamcenter PLM environment, supporting design and manufacturing engineers across CAD data management, BOM management, and change control. This role is for a Teamcenter Administrator who will sit at the intersection of application administration, systems administration across Windows and Linux, and engineering data management to keep Teamcenter servers, four-tier architecture, and enterprise integrations running reliably. Responsibilities Install, configure, and maintain Teamcenter four-tier architecture, leading environment installations, corporate server setup, version upgrades, and patch rollouts. Extend and maintain the Business Modeler IDE (BMIDE) data model, manage users, roles, projects, access controls, and configure EPM workflow templates and change processes. Support Teamcenter integrations with CAD platforms including NX and CATIA V5/V6, as well as downstream enterprise systems like SAP, Jira, and MES. Administer Teamcenter application and database servers on both Windows Server and Linux environments, managing service accounts, environment variables, and file/volume permissions. Monitor Pool/Server Manager processes, FSC/FMS transfer performance, server resource utilization, and database query performance to prevent system slowdowns. Execute scheduled OS and Teamcenter patching, corporate server updates, and automated backup/restore routines for database, volumes, and TC_DATA. Perform server log diagnostics, write Shell/Python/Perl automation scripts, and support ITK and custom shared-library builds on Linux. Triage L1/L2 Teamcenter incidents, manage ITSM queues to track SLAs, and ensure audit-ready traceability of engineering data changes in compliance with quality standards. Experience and Qualifications Degree in Computer Science, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent practical experience. 4–6 years of hands-on experience with Teamcenter installations, upgrades, and administration, alongside 3–5 years of practical domain experience. Must Have Competencies Administration of Teamcenter Rich Client, Active Workspace, BMIDE, ITK/SOA development, EPM Workflow Designer, Access Manager, and Structure Manager. Operating system administration across Windows Server (IIS, services, Active Directory/LDAP) and Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu Server, SUSE, systemd, LVM, shared-library builds). Database administration and performance tuning across Oracle, MSSQL, and PostgreSQL schema management and backup routines. Scripting, automation, and programming proficiency using Java, Bash, Python, Perl, and SQL. Good to have Competencies Integration administration across Teamcenter SOA/REST APIs, SAP BOM sync, Jira ECN tracking, and MES process data connectivity. Configuration and troubleshooting of NX Connector, CATIA V5/V6 Integration, and Teamcenter Share for multi-CAD data management. Server networking, TCP/IP, storage fundamentals, and FMS/volume configuration diagnostics. Alignment with engineering change control (ECR/ECN), ISA-95, and automotive ISO/TS quality standards.
