About The Role
As Functional Business Consultant – Engineering & PLM, you are responsible for the end‑to‑end engineering processes and system capabilities across CAD, PDM, PLM, and ERP integration.
Your primary focus is to ensure a coherent, governed engineering system landscape, while supporting daily operations and driving future‑oriented PLM initiatives.
You act as the functional bridge between Engineering, Operations, and ISM, combining process understanding, system expertise, and conceptual thinking.
Roles and Responsibilities
Engineering Process Ownership
- Own and improve end‑to‑end Engineering and R&D processes
- Act as key ISM partner for Engineering and Product Development
- Ensure alignment with Operations and Manufacturing
PLM & System Landscape Governance
- Establish and enforce governance for CAD, PDM, and PLM systems
- Ensure consistency of engineering data, structures, and processes
- Provide oversight for distributed system ownership in the business
Solution Design & PLM Development
- Translate business requirements into coherent system and process solutions
- Develop concepts for PLM capabilities, product structures, and change processes
- Evaluate process and technical fit pragmatically across systems
Operations Support & System Stability
- Support daily operations across CAD, PDM, PLM, and ERP-related processes
- Ensure system stability and coordinate issue resolution
- Collaborate with internal teams and external providers
PLM Initiatives & Cross-Functional Integration
- Represent ISM in PLM initiatives and projects
- Ensure integration with ERP and downstream processes
- Enable smooth transition from Engineering to Operations
 
Candidate profile
- Strong understanding of Engineering / R&D processes
- Experience with CAD, PDM, and ideally PLM systems
- Experience in ERP integration (e.g. BOM, part management, engineering change management)
- Ability to work across heterogeneous system landscapes
- Strong analytical and conceptual thinking combined with hands‑on mindset
- Act as domain authority for Engineering and PLM within ISM
- Shape PLM strategy and roadmap together with business stakeholders
- Confident communication and stakeholder management skills
- Very good English skills
