Join the Shinsen Sushi team as a Sushi Roller and bring creativity, quality, and exceptional service to every plate!

The Sushi Roller is responsible for preparing and presenting fresh, high-quality sushi according to established recipes and presentation standards. This position works closely with both front-of-house and back-of-house team members to ensure orders are prepared accurately and efficiently while creating a welcoming dining experience for our guests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare and present sushi and other menu items according to established recipes, portioning, quality, and presentation standards.
• Complete guest orders accurately and efficiently while providing friendly service to guests seated at the sushi bar.
• Anticipate and respond to guest needs to help create a positive dining experience.
• Maintain clear communication with the Chef, kitchen, bar, dining room, and other team members.
• Respond quickly and appropriately to guest concerns or operational needs.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area throughout the shift.
• Clean and sanitize food preparation equipment, counters, tables, utensils, and surrounding work areas.
• Follow all established food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Maintain a professional, positive, and respectful demeanor when interacting with guests, fellow team members, management, and vendors.
• Accept coaching and performance feedback in a professional manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QualificationsEducation and Experience

• Must be at least 19 years of age.
• High School Diploma and/or GED preferred.
• Previous sushi preparation, food preparation, restaurant, or customer service experience is preferred.
• Customer-service focused with an outgoing, upbeat, and positive attitude.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to quality and presentation.
• Ability to remain professional and composed during busy or potentially stressful situations.
• Ability to communicate and work effectively as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, as business needs require.
• Must be able to work variable overtime when required.

Work Environment

This position is located within a casino and restaurant environment. Team Members must be able to work in areas that may include:
Secondary smoke
High noise levels
Bright lights

Dust

Fast-paced kitchen and restaurant activity
