As a Respiratory Therapist at Baystate Wing Hospital, you'll care for adult and pediatric patients with cardiopulmonary disorders. Working under the direction of a physician, you'll perform diagnostic evaluations, administer therapeutic treatments, and play a vital role in improving patient outcomes.

What You'll Do

As a Respiratory Therapist, you will

  • Perform comprehensive cardiopulmonary assessments and diagnostic testing
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat adult and pediatric patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary disorders
  • Administer respiratory therapies, including:
  • Medical gas therapy
  • Aerosol and humidity therapy
  • Airway clearance techniques
  • Artificial airway management
  • Invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation
  • Vascular catheter insertion, management, and care
  • Extracorporeal Life Support (ECLS)
  • Perform pulmonary function testing, blood gas analysis, sleep studies, and other diagnostic procedures
  • Assess patient response to therapy and adjust treatment plans within established protocols
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary care team to develop individualized care plans
  • Participate in disease management for patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions
  • Support hemodynamic monitoring and patient stabilization
  • Assist with discharge planning and patient education
  • Respond to Rapid Response and Code Blue events, providing advanced respiratory support
  • Maintain respiratory therapy equipment and ensure compliance with quality, safety, infection prevention, and regulatory standards

Compensation

Note: The compensation range(s) in the table below represent the base salaries for all positions at a given grade across the health system. Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees.

$34.34 - $44.96 - $58.56
