Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Metal Fabrication Machine Operator to join a manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate fabrication equipment to cut, shape, and form metal components while ensuring quality workmanship and a safe work environment.
Primary Duties
- Set up and operate press brakes, shears, and other metal fabrication equipment.
- Cut, bend, and form structural steel and miscellaneous metal components according to production requirements.
- Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, shop prints, and work orders.
- Measure, mark, and lay out materials using tape measures, squares, levels, and other precision measuring tools.
- Inspect completed parts to verify dimensions, quality, and compliance with specifications.
- Transport materials and finished products throughout the shop using forklifts and overhead cranes.
- Keep equipment and work areas clean while following established safety procedures.
- Report equipment issues or material concerns that may affect production or quality.
Qualifications
- Preferred minimum of 2 years of experience operating press brakes, shears, or similar metal fabrication equipment.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, shop drawings, and fabrication documents.
- Experience working with structural steel or miscellaneous metal fabrication.
- Skilled in measuring, material layout, and the use of precision hand tools.
- Forklift and overhead crane operating experience is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
