Job Position: Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Basic Salary

Working Hours

• 5.5 working days per week
• Monday to Friday: 8.00am – 5.00pm
• Saturday: 8.00am – 12.00pm

Job Description

• Evaluate tenders and quotations.
• Carry out quantity take-off for project tendering.
• Source and review costs from trade suppliers and subcontractors.
• Prepare preliminary design proposals for design and build projects.
• Prepare cost comparisons for management approval.
• Perform other quantity surveying related tasks as assigned.
• Produce AutoCAD drawings.
• Read and interpret M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) drawings.
• Review technical standards, specifications, datasheets, calculations, and drawings.
• Support and provide mechanical engineering design.
• Handle design works and/or project management relevant to ACMV (Air Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation).
• Provide technical assistance to engineers.
• Advise engineers on project administration and contractual issues.
• Perform basic calculations for ACMV design.
• Conduct design calculations, duct sizing, heat load calculations, cost estimation, and preparation of plans and detailed engineering designs.
• Implement cost control measures.

Requirements

• Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, or Professional Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, or equivalent.
• Effective communication skills for liaising with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and AutoCAD.
• 1-2 years of relevant working experience in the construction field.
