Machine Shop, Lead

Essential Responsibilities Lead daily shop floor activities and assist in prioritizing work assignments. Assist with troubleshooting machining, setup, tooling, fixture and equipment issues to minimize downtime. Support production scheduling and ensure work is completed efficiently and on time. Serve as a resource for team members regarding processes, equipment, and quality standards. Monitor workflow and communicate staffing or production concerns to management. Assist with onboarding and training of new employees. Promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with all safety requirements. Support quality initiatives and assist in resolving production issues. Foster teamwork, accountability, and positive employee relations. Coordinate with other departments to ensure operational needs are met. Perform other duties as assigned. Support continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing, 5S, waste reduction, and process improvement activities. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Working knowledge of machining equipment, tooling, and inspection methods. Must have experience with milling equipment and machine shop practices Demonstrated technical knowledge of machine shop operations. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience serving as a lead, trainer, mentor, or informal team leader preferred Ability to lead and influence others without direct authority. Basic computer proficiency.
