Position Description
- The General Services Department, Business Manager role is highly focused on budgeting and accounting,
- offering the opportunity to step into a key leadership position where you will guide essential business
- operations, shape policies, and support decision makers across the organization. Applicants who meet
- the minimum qualifications and possess strong budgeting and accounting experience may be deemed

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following
- Managing financial and budget functions for the department including mid-year and annual budget
development.
- Monitoring monthly budget projections, preparing and presenting quarterly financial reports, and
making recommendations based on data driven analysis.
- Overseeing accounting activities including accounts payables, accounts receivables, ID billing, journal
entries, Form 10 requests, pre-billing, and risk reimbursements.
- Developing, reviewing, and monitoring budget and expenditure requests.
- Providing administrative and technical support to management and staff.
- Coordinating projects and activities with other departments and / or external agencies.
- Supervising, training, and evaluating assigned staff.
- Performing related duties as assigned.

- The current vacancy exists in the General Services Department. The Business Manager classification
- exists in several departments. Therefore, the City of Fresno may choose to utilize this recruitment for
- future vacancies. The duties, work location, and schedule of this position may vary by assignment, please

- This is an unclassified position in which the incumbent serves at the will of the Department Director.
- Annual Salary Range $110,904-$135,108
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements
The Requirements
Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications on or before the posted filing deadline in order to
qualify for further consideration
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration,
- Business Administration, Finance or related field
AND
- Four (4) years of professional, administrative, operations, budgetary or similar experience.
- Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis, up
- to a maximum of two years.

Additional Requirements
- Possession of a valid California Driver's License may be required at time of appointment. Candidates
- considered for hire must provide proof of a valid driver's license and a current copy of their driving record.
- The selected eligible candidates certified will be required to successfully pass a Department interview and
- a Department of Justice fingerprint prior to employment with the City of Fresno.
- Eligibles certified to the Police Department will be required to successfully complete a computer voice
- stress analyzer test and/or polygraph test, extensive background investigation, and a department
- interview prior to appointment with the City of Fresno.
