Verafin - Senior Software Developer (Lakehouse Data Integration)

As a Senior Software Developer on our Lakehouse Data Integration Team, you'll play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable data applications that power Nasdaq Verafin's lakehouse platform and enable seamless data integration across the organization. You'll thrive in this position if you're collaborative, detail-oriented, and passionate about solving complex data challenges in a fast-paced, high-impact environment. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable applications using Java and object-oriented programming principles. Write and optimize high-performance queries using PostgreSQL to support large-scale data operations. Build and maintain comprehensive unit tests to ensure code quality and system reliability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver data integration solutions that drive business outcomes. Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes, tooling, and platform architecture. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. 2+ years of software development experience. Strong programming skills in Java with solid understanding of object-oriented design. Proven experience with PostgreSQL, including query optimization and database performance tuning. Clear communicator with experience working in collaborative, cross-functional environments. Preferred Qualifications Experience building large-scale data processing pipelines using Apache Spark and Scala. Hands-on experience deploying and scaling applications within AWS infrastructure (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, EMR, Lambda). Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or cloud-native architectures. This position will be located in St. John's or Toronto and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment at least 3 days a week in-office, subject to change, providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.
