About The Role
Overview of the Role
As a Business Development Representative (BDR) on our Sales team, you will be the starting point for new business at Salesforce — generating pipeline through strategic outbound prospecting, account research, and cold calling across a mix of existing customers and net new logos. You will partner closely with Account Executives to identify and develop opportunities, and receive intensive sales training designed to build the foundational skills for a long-term sales career at Salesforce. With Agentforce woven into our platform, you will also help prospects understand how AI-powered agents can transform the way they do business.
You may be aligned to one or more verticals including Financial Services, Healthcare and Life Sciences, Manufacturing, Retail and Consumer Goods, Communications Media and Technology, or Consumer Business Services.
Responsibilities
- Prospect and generate new business pipeline through outbound cold calling, account research, and strategic outreach across assigned territories.
- Nurture early-stage opportunities and manage inbound leads generated through outbound efforts.
- Partner with Account Executives to identify net new pipeline, research lines of business, and align on key decision makers within target accounts.
- Develop a deep understanding of assigned accounts to uncover business challenges and match them to Salesforce solutions.
Required Qualifications
- 1–2 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related field.
- Proven track record of achieving sales metrics and consistent quota attainment.
- Experience with outbound prospecting, cold calling, and account planning across a large territory of net new and existing accounts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience researching and building account plans across a hybrid mix of net new and existing install accounts.
- Ability to strategize and collaborate effectively with a large extended internal sales team.
- Experience will be evaluated based on core competencies for the role (e.g., extracurricular leadership, military experience, volunteer experience, work experience).
