What you'll be doing
Change Management
- Lead the preparation of the business for upcoming change from initial concept through execution and post‑implementation review.
- Act as the connector between project teams and business users to ensure changes are delivered smoothly.
- Work with stakeholders to understand impact, manage risks, and ensure alignment with strategic and operational goals.
- Apply Agile principles to maintain flexibility and responsiveness throughout change cycles.
Release Management
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee release cycles to ensure business stability while enabling innovation.
- Ensure governance, compliance, and approvals are properly followed for each release.
- Collaborate with technical teams to schedule, test, and deploy changes effectively.
- Identify and resolve conflicts between releases to prevent operational disruption.
- Use Agile frameworks to keep release cycles efficient and adaptive.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
- Develop and deliver communication plans in partnership with the Stakeholder Manager and Project Manager.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders, keeping them informed and engaged throughout the change process.
- Provide support and training to business users to ensure successful adoption of new processes or systems.
- Promote an Agile mindset that encourages collaboration and continuous improvement.
Risk Management and Compliance
- Conduct impact assessments, resource analysis, and contingency planning for major changes.
- Monitor and manage risks across change and release activities.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and business continuity standards.
Process Improvement and Best Practices
- Champion the use of industry best practices across change and release management.
- Evaluate and enhance frameworks, tools, and methodologies to promote continuous improvement.
- Provide expert guidance across teams to strengthen organisational capability and outcomes.
- Leverage Agile principles to iteratively improve processes.
Who we're looking for
- Proven experience in Change and Release Management within the public sector or a highly regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of ITIL frameworks and industry best practice.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complexity into clarity.
- Proven ability to manage multiple initiatives while minimising operational risk or disruption.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision making abilities.
- Comprehensive understanding of Agile methodologies and how they can enhance change and release processes.
