Core Job Functions

Learning Environment and Classroom Management

  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, implement effective behavior management strategies, build strong student-teacher relationships, and create a safe and joyful environment for optimal learning.

Instructional Practices

  • Consistently execute core best practices aligned with the Impact instructional model, develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans, anticipate student responses and potential challenges, and differentiate instruction as needed to ensure student success.

Modeling Core Values

  • Exemplify and consistently model Impact core values and adhere to campus norms that align with the organization's values, fostering a sense of belonging for all students, and committed to disrupting inequity in the classroom and school environment each day.

Professional Development and Collaboration

  • Lead professional development initiatives, mentor and support teaching fellows, collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and other educators to contribute to a cohesive and supportive learning environment, and actively engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and effectiveness.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in education/related field or be actively working towards completing a bachelor's degree (required within 2-years of employment)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years experience delivering rigorous and engaging instruction in a K-12 setting
  • Substitute Teaching certification

License/Certification

  • Must have or be eligible for certification by OSPI with an endorsement in Elementary Education (within 1-month of employment required)
  • Must have or be eligible to obtain a food handler certification

Physical Demands

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is active and may require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching throughout the day. Frequent light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds) with occasional heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds). The employee must have sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment. Work is primarily inside but has daily responsibilities outside (exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather).

  • Must be able to obtain then provide an academic transcript if hired
  • Must pass a fingerprint and background check
  • Complete SafeSchools trainings
