About The Role
We are looking for an experienced professional to join our CTO CO2 and Energy Flat Europe team as powerplant and energy expert, a key strategic position that will shape our future energy progress.
Position Scope & Career Exposure
As a powerplant and energy expert, you will be responsible for improving the technical results of our energy assets in all plants of ArcelorMittal Flat Europe and to challenge the suppliers operating the powerplants valorizing the siderurgical gases. Your main focus will be on supporting and challenging the clusters to make progress in short, medium, and long term and to contribute to the value plan. You will also support ArcelorMittal Flat Europe's energy transition and decarbonisation objectives through the optimisation and development of energy assets.

You will build an influential international network through European projects and enhance your professional skills through regular cross-border collaboration. Your strategic contributions will directly impact all Flat Europe plants operations. You will foster the implementation of best practices.
Your future missions
- Provide technical expertise to support contract negotiations and performance reviews with external powerplant operators and energy suppliers, ensuring operational excellence and value creation.
- Influence technical decisions across clusters by challenging existing practices, promoting data-driven recommendations and fostering alignment among key stakeholders.
- Support plants in developing and implementing energy facility projects
- Support the plants in the projects of development and implementation of energy facilities
- Drive performance improvement and technical progress in the energy domain across all ArcelorMittal clusters in Europe Flat.
- Collaborate with other CTO experts to develop energy progress plans in their respective domains
- Conduct regular visits to clusters for technical assessments and meetings focused on improving performance (energy efficiency and reliability of energy assets).
- Provide support in technical optimization
- Leverage your cross-functional European perspective to identify, promote, and support the implementation of best practices at local level
- Benchmark internal and external plants to bring new ideas for improving energy efficiency
Your profile and skills
- Master's degree in mechanics or engineering is a plus
- Significant operational and technical experience in the domain of powerplants and industrial power generation assets, including boilers, turbo machines and related equipment, operation, maintenance and engineering perspective.
- Ability to influence technical decisions across multiple sites and to challenge existing practices through data-driven recommendations and benchmarking
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication capabilities
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills
- High level of autonomy and ease in taking initiatives within a defined framework
- Persuasive leadership approach
- Professional working proficiency in English for international collaboration. Knowledge of additional languages would be considered an asset.
- Managerial experience is a plus
In the context of this position, the following additional skills would be a plus
- Experience in the domain of CO2 capture and CO2 conditioning
- Experience in the domain of waste to energy and biomass transformation and treatment
Additional Information
- Direct reporting line to the Head of CTO CO2 and energy team
- Primary base: Any integrated plant of AM Flat Europe
- Regular travel into the European Flat Europe clusters (1 to 2 times per month).
