We're looking for a great all-round Cook to join our friendly kitchen team at Everil Orr Care Centre . If you're a team player with kitchen experience, an understanding of modified texture meals, and a passion for quality food, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role | Mō te tūranga

As our Cook, you'll work alongside the Kitchen Manager and kitchen team to prepare high-quality meals for residents across our 68 care suites .

You'll play an important role in ensuring residents receive nutritious, enjoyable meals that meet their individual dietary requirements, including modified texture diets.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Preparing and cooking meals to a high standard
  • Catering for specialised dietary needs and modified textures (IDDSI)
  • Supporting kitchen operations and stock management
  • Maintaining excellent food safety and hygiene standards
  • Working collaboratively with the Kitchen Manager and wider team
  • Building positive relationships with residents and their whānau

What You'll Bring | Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu

We're looking for someone who

  • Has previous cooking experience (aged care, healthcare, hospitality, or similar)
  • Has knowledge of modified texture meals and dietary requirements
  • Understands food safety and kitchen hygiene practices
  • Enjoys working as part of a team
  • Takes pride in producing high-quality meals
  • Has a positive attitude and enjoys interacting with residents
  • Formal qualifications are welcomed but not essential if you have strong practical cooking experience.

Hours of Work

Working days will primarily be

  • Monday
  • Tuesday
  • Wednesday
  • This includes Public Holidays where required.
  • Flexibility is key, and there may be opportunities to work additional shifts as needed.
