About The Role

Responsibilities

  • Be able to set up, troubleshoot and make minor changes to machines.
  • Monitor quality / complete quality reports.
  • Process incoming and in-house materials, as required.
  • Organize and maintain the extrusion work area, including storage areas for staged and surplus product waiting to be ground.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, including the extruder machines and ancillary equipment.
  • Material handling.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment through compliance to H & S policies.
  • Ensure compliance with good manufacturing practices.

Skills and Requirements

  • Sound troubleshooting skills with a strong mechanical background.
  • Should have, or be willing to learn, knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacturing and distribution of goods.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including designs, uses, repairs and maintenance.
  • Must be a certified forklift operator, or be willing and able to achieve certification.
  • An understanding of the basic concepts of injection molding, plastics processing.
  • Comfortable working in a fast pace environment.
  • Self-motivated; ability to work without supervision.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with attention to details.
  • Shift flexibility, with the ability to work overtime, is a requirement – ability to work both continental (12 hr) and conventional (8 hr) shifts, if required.
