Staff Engineer, Oracle EBS Techno-Functional (Finance)

About The Role

REQUIREMENTS

  • Total experience 6+ years  
  • Strong experience in Oracle EBS Financials with strong techno-functional expertise.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Oracle E-Business Suite R12 / R12.2.x, with at least 5 years of relevant Oracle EBS experience.
  • Strong functional knowledge of Oracle Financial modules including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Fixed Assets (FA), Cash Management (CM), and Subledger Accounting (SLA).
  • Strong understanding of financial business processes, accounting principles, trial balance reconciliation, subledger reconciliation, period close, and financial reporting.
  • Proven ability to bridge business requirements and technical architecture by translating functional requirements into scalable and reliable technical solutions.
  • Strong experience in RICEW components including Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Extensions, and Workflows.
  • Hands-on expertise in SQL, PL/SQL, database objects, and Oracle database performance tuning.
  • Strong experience with Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, BI/XML Publisher, and Oracle Workflow Builder.
  • Good understanding of Oracle Application Framework (OAF) and Oracle EBS technical architecture.
  • Experience developing and maintaining complex PL/SQL objects including Packages, Procedures, Functions, Triggers, and Views.
  • Experience developing custom reports and document templates using BI Publisher/XML Publisher and Oracle Reports.
  • Strong experience with inbound and outbound integrations using Oracle APIs, Web Services, interface tables, and other integration mechanisms.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle EBS technical utilities such as FNDLOAD, SQL*Loader, and Unix/Linux shell scripting.
  • Experience supporting financial operations including Month-End/Year-End Close, Bank Integrations, Account Reconciliation, and period-close activities.
  • Experience working directly with business users and finance teams to understand requirements, perform fit-gap analysis, and provide effective solutions.
  • Experience in requirements gathering, technical/functional documentation, and implementation methodologies such as AIM/OUM, including BR100, MD050, MD070, and TE040.
  • Functional candidates may also be considered; however, they will be assessed on their competency in the technical skills mentioned above.
  • Self-motivated with a positive, can-do attitude and strong ownership of deliverables.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as a key Oracle EBS Techno-Functional Finance Consultant, bridging the gap between business requirements and technical solutions across Oracle EBS Financial modules.
  • Provide primary support for Oracle EBS Financials, including day-to-day incidents, enhancements, production support, and period-close activities.
  • Work closely with finance teams, business users, and stakeholders to understand business processes, gather requirements, conduct fit-gap analysis, and recommend effective Oracle solutions.
  • Lead requirements-gathering workshops and prepare functional and technical documentation in accordance with AIM/OUM methodologies.
  • Support critical financial processes including Month-End/Year-End Close, Bank Integrations, Account Reconciliation, Subledger Accounting, and financial reporting.
  • Lead and participate in Conference Room Pilots (CRP), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), system testing, and end-user training.
  • Design, develop, customize, and maintain RICEW components including Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Extensions, and Workflows.
  • Design and develop complex database solutions using Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, including Packages, Procedures, Functions, Triggers, and Views.
  • Develop, customize, and maintain reports and document templates using BI Publisher/XML Publisher and Oracle Reports.
  • Design, develop, and support inbound and outbound integrations between Oracle EBS and third-party applications using APIs, Web Services, interface tables, and other integration technologies.
  • Perform SQL and PL/SQL performance tuning and optimize custom reports and database objects to improve system performance and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot functional and technical issues by analyzing business processes, application logic, data flow, and database objects to identify root causes and implement corrective solutions.
  • Work closely with technical and functional teams to deliver enhancements while ensuring adherence to Oracle EBS development standards and best practices.
  • Manage and support technical activities using Oracle EBS utilities such as FNDLOAD, SQL*Loader, and Unix/Linux shell scripting.
  • Participate in application upgrades, patches, deployments, integrations, and production support activities as required.
  • Maintain strong documentation for functional requirements, technical designs, test scenarios, deployment activities, and support procedures.
  • Collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, finance users, developers, testers, project managers, and other teams across geographies.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, system optimization, and enhanced user experience.
  • Provide technical and functional guidance to team members and contribute to knowledge-sharing and best practices.
  • Ensure high-quality delivery while maintaining strong client satisfaction, communication, and ownership throughout the project lifecycle.

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
