This is a remote position.
Virtual Rockstar is hiring a full-time Medical Billing Specialist to support the billing operations of a fully remote pediatric therapy billing company.

Responsibilities
Full-Cycle Medical Billing
- Manage the full billing cycle from claim submission through payment resolution
- Submit and track insurance claims using payer portals (UHC, BCBS, Availity, Waystar, etc.)
- Post insurance payments and adjustments accurately
- Investigate, follow up on, and resolve denied or unpaid claims
- Review and correct billing discrepancies efficiently
Claims Follow-Up & Performance
- Manage high-volume claim follow-up workflows (goal: ~1,000 claims/week post-training)
- Ensure timely resolution of outstanding accounts
- Maintain accurate documentation of all billing activity
Insurance Verification & Authorization Support
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits
- Obtain and track prior authorizations
- Update patient records with accurate insurance information
- Communicate with payers to clarify coverage and resolve issues
Administrative & Patient Support
- Respond to billing-related inquiries via email and phone
- Maintain and update electronic medical records
- Support internal documentation and workflow tracking
Tools & Systems
Raintree EMR
Payer portals (UHC, BCBS, Availity, Waystar, etc.)
Google Workspace (Chat, Meet, Gmail, Voice)
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in medical billing or revenue cycle management
- Strong experience with full-cycle billing (claims, posting, denials, follow-up)
- Familiarity with insurance verification and prior authorization workflows
- Experience navigating multiple payer portals
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Self-starter who can work independently in a remote environment

- Experience with ABA therapy billing
- Experience supporting pediatric therapy practices
