Job Purpose: Responsible for overseeing all customs and excise operations within the organization, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, and managing litigation related to GST, customs, and service tax. The role involves optimizing the use of duty exemption schemes and liaising with senior customs and GST officials. The candidate must have deep expertise in indirect taxation and demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to ensure efficient execution of customs and excise activities.
- Application for getting Licence for Private Bonded Warehouse from Customs, Mundra.
- Compliance related to EPCG and Advance Authorization, like, fulfilment of Export Obligation or Extension of Export Obligation period.
- Planning and Co-ordination with CHA for demurrage free imports of Copper Concentrate and other imports.
- Export: proper and correct documentation for timely export. Flawless refund of IGST paid on exports, Drawback and RODTEP script.
- On time completion of Final Assessment of Goods (Copper Concentrate, Cathode, Anode) imported on provisional assessment of Customs Duty, from Customs, Mundra.
- Timely documentary compliance with the import of Goods (Inputs) from Least Developed Countries. (under Country of Origin Certificate).
- Cross functional support.
- Development of EXIM system.
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce, Business Administration, International Trade, or related discipline. - A master’s degree or MBA with specialization in Supply Chain, Logistics, or International Business is preferred.
- 15 years of progressive experience in EXIM operations within the Copper Manufacturing or related heavy manufacturing industries.
- Extensive experience working with Customs compliance, export obligations, and licensing in India, particularly at Mundra port.
- Proven track record of managing complex import-export procedures, liaising with government agencies, and driving operational improvements.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to manage cross-functional teams and external stakeholders effectively.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate and liaise with government bodies and vendors.
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and process orientation.
- In-depth knowledge of Customs laws, Foreign FTP, and regulatory frameworks governing EPCG, Advance Authorization, and bonded warehouses.
- Proficient in preparing and managing customs documentation including Shipping Bills, Bills of Entry, Export and Import licenses.
- Expertise in import-export compliance related to GST refunds (IGST), Duty Drawback, and RODTEP schemes.
