About The Role
Job Summary
As a Demand Planner at HITACHI ENERGY INDIA LIMITED, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining accurate demand forecasts for our products, ensuring optimal inventory levels, and supporting the sales and operations planning (S&OP) process to meet customer needs and business objectives.
Job Responsibilities
- Generate and maintain accurate demand forecasts at various levels of aggregation (product, product family, customer) using statistical models, historical data, market intelligence, and input from sales and marketing teams.
- Analyze historical sales data, market trends, promotional activities, and new product introductions to identify demand patterns and forecast drivers.
- Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, product management, and supply chain teams to gather insights and validate forecast assumptions.
- Monitor forecast accuracy, identify significant variances, and implement corrective actions to improve forecast reliability.
- Participate in the S&OP process, presenting demand plans, highlighting potential risks and opportunities, and contributing to consensus forecasting.
- Support inventory optimization initiatives by providing accurate demand signals to production and procurement teams.
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) related to demand planning and report on performance regularly.
- Utilize advanced planning software and tools to enhance forecasting capabilities and efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement within the demand planning function.
Job Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Research, Statistics, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or a similar analytical role, preferably within the manufacturing or energy sector.
- Proven experience with statistical forecasting techniques and demand planning software (e.g., SAP APO, Oracle Demantra, JDA/Blue Yonder).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and draw actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced level) and other MS Office applications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of S&OP processes and principles is highly desirable.
