Consultant Child Psychiatrist - Arabic Speaker

About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Consultant Child Psychiatrist – Arabic Speaker to join a leading healthcare organisation in Abu Dhabi or Al Ain, UAE .
The successful candidate will provide specialist psychiatric assessment and treatment exclusively for children , working closely with families and a multidisciplinary clinical team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up for children with a range of mental health and behavioural conditions.
- Develop individualised treatment plans based on each child's clinical needs and developmental stage.
- Assess and manage conditions including ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, anxiety, depression, behavioural disorders, developmental concerns, trauma-related conditions, and other childhood psychiatric conditions .
- Conduct detailed clinical assessments and appropriate risk evaluations.
- Provide medication management where clinically indicated and monitor treatment response and side effects.
- Work closely with parents and caregivers to provide education, guidance, and appropriate therapeutic recommendations.
- Collaborate with paediatricians, psychologists, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, social workers, nurses, and other allied health professionals.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and treatment planning.
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and comprehensive clinical records.
- Contribute to clinical quality improvement, patient safety, and service development initiatives.
- Participate in teaching, supervision, and continuing professional development activities where required.
Requirements
- Medical degree from a recognised institution.
- Recognised postgraduate qualification in Child Psychiatry / Psychiatry .
- Consultant-level clinical experience in Child Psychiatry .
- Experience exclusively or predominantly focused on paediatric mental health .
- Eligibility for Consultant-level licensing/classification in the UAE , subject to the relevant health authority requirements.
- Arabic speaker – mandatory.
- Strong experience in the assessment and management of childhood psychiatric and developmental conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with children and their families.
- International or Western clinical experience is an advantage.
