Sanimax is looking for a Fleet Mechanic in our Deforest location for the day shift. This individual will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of our fleet—including semi tractors, trailers, and yard equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee repairs on our fleet, primarily end-dump trailers, tractors, and yard equipment
• Diagnose mechanical issues using modern troubleshooting and diagnostic tools
• Conduct pre-inspections to ensure equipment readiness and compliance
• Entering and completing work orders
• Welding & fabricating as necessary
• Partner closely with the Transportation team to meet operational equipment needs
• Execute and promote preventive maintenance programs aligned with Department of Transportation (DOT) standards
• Contribute to a safe, organized, and efficient shop environment
• Perform other related duties as required

Requirements

• 1+ year of experience or completed education in mechanics
• Strong knowledge of vehicle and heavy equipment repair and maintenance
• Comfortable using basic computer systems and software
• Valid driver’s license required; Class A CDL (or willingness to obtain) is an asset
• Welding or fabrication skills a plus
