As an Associate in our Private Business team within Tax and Legal Services, you'll support a broad portfolio of private clients with their accounting, compliance and business advisory needs. You'll work closely with senior team members and clients, developing practical solutions that make a real difference.
This is a permanent opportunity based in Ōtautahi / Christchurch.
Your day-to-day could include
- Preparing financial statements, income tax returns and indirect tax returns to a high professional standard
- Supporting clients with accounting and tax compliance requirements while developing your advisory capabilities
- Assisting businesses with budgeting, cash flow forecasting, management reporting, financial modelling and board reporting
- Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and help clients make informed business decisions
- Building strong client relationships and collaborating with colleagues across PwC to deliver integrated solutions

We're looking for someone who is curious, motivated and eager to grow their career in professional services who brings
- A degree in Accounting, Commerce, Business or a related discipline
- Approximately 1-3 years of experience in a public practice, accounting or tax environment
- A solid understanding of New Zealand tax and accounting principles
- Experience preparing financial statements, income tax returns and indirect tax returns (including GST and FBT)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
- Confidence using accounting software such as Xero and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with clients and colleagues
- Progress towards, or an intention to undertake, CA ANZ or CPA qualifications
