Te tūranga – The role
The Advisor in the Money and Cash Policy teams plays a senior role in developing and delivering policy that supports efficient, innovative, and inclusive money and payments system for New Zealand. As Advisor, you will lead policy projects, provide high-quality analysis and advice, and engage with stakeholders across government and industry. Current key team policy priorities include payments modernisation, cash access, and the future of money.
Ō pūkenga – About you
You will be a strategic and collaborative leader who is passionate about shaping the future of cash and payments in New Zealand. To be successful in this role you will bring:
- 7+ years' experience in public policy, regulation, financial services, or a related field,
- Relevant tertiary qualification (economics, finance, law, or similar),
- Proven experience leading and delivering complex policy, analytical, financial, or regulatory projects,
- Strong stakeholder management, relationship-building, and collaboration skills,
- Excellent written and verbal communication,
- Experience coaching, managing, or leading individuals and teams,
- Sound understanding of New Zealand economic issues and legislative process,
- Strong judgement, strategic thinking, and ability to identify and address policy issues.

The anticipated appointment range for this role is $152,325 to $177,713 (actual salary will be dependent on your skills and experience).
