About The Role

Position Type: Full-Time or Part-Time

Schedule: Monday–Friday (Flexible scheduling within operating hours)

Position Summary

Northstar Preschools is seeking a dependable, flexible, and nurturing Breaker/Support Teacher to assist in classrooms serving children ages 6 weeks to 12 years. This position plays a vital role in maintaining smooth daily operations by providing staff breaks, assisting with daily routines, and supporting classrooms wherever needed.

The ideal candidate is adaptable, organized, and confident working with a variety of age groups. This role requires someone who thrives in a team environment and understands the importance of consistency and structure for young children.

Responsibilities

  • Provide scheduled breaks and coverage for classroom teachers
  • Assist with infant care including feeding, diapering, and soothing
  • Support potty training efforts in toddler and preschool classrooms
  • Help supervise nap time and ensure a calm, safe environment
  • Assist with meal and snack times following CACFP guidelines
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in classrooms
  • Support classroom management and positive behavior guidance
  • Help with playground supervision
  • Communicate professionally with staff and families as needed
  • Follow all state licensing regulations and center policies

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience working with children preferred
  • Ability to pass background check
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliable transportation
