About The Role

Key Responsibilities 1. Operations Management Plan, coordinate, and monitor FTL shipments from origin to destination. Ensure timely placement and movement of vehicles as per customer requirements. Track shipments and proactively resolve delays or disruptions. Maintain daily MIS reports and operational dashboards. 2. Vendor & Fleet Management Identify, onboard, and manage transport vendors and fleet operators. Negotiate freight rates and ensure cost efficiency. Monitor vendor performance and compliance with SLAs. Ensure vehicle availability based on demand forecasts. 3. Customer Coordination Serve as a point of contact for clients regarding FTL shipments. Understand customer requirements and provide logistics solutions. Handle escalations and ensure timely issue resolution. Maintain high service quality and customer satisfaction levels. 4. Documentation & Compliance Ensure proper documentation (LR, POD, e-way bills, invoices, etc.). Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, safety standards, and company policies. Maintain accurate records of shipments and billing data. 5. Cost & Budget Control Optimize routing and load planning to reduce transportation costs. Monitor freight costs and identify cost-saving opportunities. Ensure billing accuracy and timely invoicing. 6. Technology & Tracking Work with TMS (Transport Management System) for operations tracking. Use GPS and tracking tools for real-time shipment visibility. Generate performance reports and analytics. 7. Team Coordination Coordinate with warehouse teams, dispatch, and planning teams. Guide and support junior team members (if in managerial role). Key Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of FTL transportation and logistics operations Vendor negotiation and management skills Good communication and stakeholder management Analytical and problem-solving ability Familiarity with TMS, GPS tracking systems, and MS Excel Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment Qualifications Graduate / Postgraduate in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field Certifications in Logistics/Supply Chain (preferred) Experience Executive: 2–5 years in logistics/FTL operations Manager: 5–10 years in FTL / transportation operations Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) On-time vehicle placement and delivery Freight cost optimization Vendor performance metrics Shipment tracking accuracy Customer satisfaction levels Reduction in transit delays and claims Work Conditions May require working in shifts or extended hours On-call support for operational issues
