What You’ll Learn & Do
You’ll start by working alongside our experienced technicians in the fire shop, and will gradually take on more responsibility as you build your skills.
- Inspecting, testing, and servicing fire extinguishers;
- Inspecting and testing fire hoses;
- Servicing life-saving appliances;
- Ensuring timely and quality completion of work orders;
- Completing daily reports of completed work orders and activities;
- Monitoring parts inventory and equipment maintenance requirements;
- Following all safe work practices and safety leadership is demonstrated in all aspects of the job; and
- Participating in on-call/call out emergency service as required.

What You Bring
- Mechanical aptitude and interest in hands-on technical work (automotive, heavy equipment, industrial, electrical, or similar backgrounds all translate well)
- Strong safety mindset, attention to detail, and willingness to follow procedures
- Curiosity and a willingness to learn — you ask questions and take pride in doing it right
- Ability to lift, work on your feet, and use hand/power tools safely
- Valid driver’s license
- Nice to have (not required): coursework or experience in automotive, heavy equipment, industrial mechanic, electrical, or fire protection technology
- Don’t have fire shop experience yet? That’s okay. If you bring the attitude, effort, and mechanical aptitude, we’ll teach you the rest.
