As a Head of EHV and HV Grid (BESS), you will take full ownership of grid connection and high-voltage infrastructure for our BESS projects. You will lead - supported by our internal and external technical experts - the delivery of 380 kV substation and grid integration projects end-to-end - from early-stage design and grid application through to commissioning and energization. This is a senior, high-impact role where you act as the lead for all high-voltage topics, ensuring safe, compliant, and on-time grid connection of our assets.

What you would work on?
Lead the end-to-end execution of high-voltage substation projects (esp. 380 kV) in compliance with grid operator requirements and regulatory standards
Own the grid integration strategy for BESS assets, including connection concepts, technical specifications, and application processes
Act as the primary technical interface to TSOs/DSOs, regulatory bodies, and certification authorities
Manage and coordinate all grid connection activities, including permitting, engineering, construction interfaces, commissioning, and acceptance testing
Oversee technical consultants, EPC contractors, OEMs, and engineering partners on HV scope and grid compliance
Ensure full compliance with relevant standards (e.g. VDE, IEC) and grid codes
Protection and control systems (including protection schemes and relays)
Substation design and grid interface requirements
Perform and validate grid studies, including load flow, short-circuit analysis, and dynamic simulations
Develop and maintain grid models using industry-standard tools
Support on-site activities when required, including switching operations and commissioning support
What makes you a great candidate?
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a comparable qualification.
Proven experience in extra-high-voltage (380kV) and high-voltage (110kV) substation projects
Strong expertise in grid integration and grid connection processes
Experience with grid calculation and simulation tools (e.g. PowerFactory, PSS®SINCAL)
Solid knowledge of relevant standards and regulations, including: VDE 0101, VDE 0105, VDE-AR-N 4110 / 4120, IEC 61850
Strong project management and stakeholder coordination skills
Fluent in German and English (business level required)
Willingness to travel within Germany and occasionally across EMEA
