Senior LNG Market Risk Analyst

About The Role
- Provide independent market risk oversight and commercial support for a global LNG portfolio, covering both short-term trading and long-term origination activities
- Advise traders and commercial teams on hedging strategies, portfolio optimisation, valuation methodologies, and risk-reward trade-offs across LNG transactions
- Manage the risk assessment and valuation of LNG portfolios comprising FOB, DES, regasification capacity, storage, shipping, and other structured LNG contracts
- Perform quantitative analysis of LNG optionality, including diversion rights, destination flexibility, shipping optimisation, netback calculations, and cross-basin arbitrage opportunities across the US, Europe, and Asia
- Support the pricing, structuring, and approval of new LNG transactions, including medium- and long-term supply agreements, regasification capacity, and other complex originated deals
- Develop and maintain robust valuation and risk models, ensuring accurate measurement of market exposures, sensitivities, stress scenarios, and portfolio performance
- Partner closely with Front Office on a daily basis, providing commercial challenge, independent analysis, and timely risk recommendations to support decision-making
- Leverage quantitative tools and programming skills, including Python and SQL, to automate analysis, enhance reporting, and improve risk management processes
- Work with trading systems and risk platforms, ENDUR (preferred), to analyse positions, validate valuations, and improve risk reporting capabilities
- Contribute to the continued development of the LNG risk framework, supporting the growth of the business while ensuring appropriate governance, valuation standards, and market risk controls
- 4–5+ years' experience in LNG Market Risk, LNG Trading, or LNG Portfolio Management
- Strong understanding of global gas and LNG markets, including FOB/DES contracts, shipping, regasification, storage, and optionality
- Experience with chartering economics, vessel optimisation, netback calculations, and LNG portfolio optimisation
- Excellent commercial acumen with the ability to partner effectively with traders and origination teams
- Strong quantitative background with proficiency in Python and SQL
- Experience with Openlink ENDUR is highly desirable
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence commercial decisions while maintaining independent risk oversight
