Social Video Producer

POLITICO Europe is seeking a Social Video Producer to help shape and grow our presence across social platforms while expanding our video storytelling capabilities.

This role sits at the intersection of audience engagement, journalism, and video. The successful candidate will oversee POLITICO Europe's social channels, helping determine how our reporting reaches audiences on platforms including Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn and emerging channels. They will also lead the development and execution of social-first video projects, working closely with reporters, editors , and visual journalists to bring our journalism to life.

What You'll Do

• Lead day-to-day management and editorial planning for POLITICO Europe's social media channels.
• Develop and execute social-first video strategies that grow engagement and reach.
• Work with reporters and editors to identify stories with strong visual and video potential.
• Produce, commission and oversee short-form video content optimized for platform audiences.
• Manage video projects from planning through publication, including timelines, workflows and stakeholder coordination.
• Coordinate external production crews and vendors for larger filmed interviews, events or special projects.
• Monitor platform trends and audience behavior , translating insights into editorial opportunities.
• Collaborate with newsroom, audience, design and product teams to maximize the impact of POLITICO's journalism.
• Help establish best practices for social video production and distribution across Europe.

What You’ll Need

• Experience producing social content, video content, or ideally both, in a newsroom, media organization or digital publisher.
• Strong understanding of major social platforms and their evolving formats, audiences, and best practices.
• Strong writing skills and the ability to write and edit copy in line with POLITICO’s voice and standards.
• Demonstrated experience managing projects and collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent news judgment and understanding of political, policy and current affairs journalism.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced news environment.
• Experience working with freelance creators, production companies or external crews is a plus.
• Familiarity with video production workflows, scripting, storyboarding, and post-production processes.
• Hands-on video editing experience is welcome but not required .
