Job Description

Job Summary

The Testing Specialist / High School Equivalency Examiner is responsible for administering GED and other approved assessments in accordance with testing vendor requirements, state guidelines, and institutional policies. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong computer proficiency, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced testing environment.

The successful candidate will maintain test security, provide professional support to examinees, troubleshoot basic technical issues, and ensure a positive testing experience. This position will include proctoring GED testing both on campus and within correctional facilities while adhering to all testing and facility security procedures.

Essential Functions

  • Administer GED and other approved examinations in accordance with testing regulations and security standards. Ensure testing rooms, computer workstations, and testing equipment are prepared and functioning properly prior to each testing session.

Provide outstanding customer service and create a professional, welcoming testing environment. (25%)

  • Verify candidate identity and eligibility for testing. Admit examinees and provide clear instructions regarding testing procedures, rules, and expectations. Respond to candidate questions while maintaining test integrity. (15%)
  • Monitor examinees throughout the testing process to ensure compliance with testing policies.
  • Detect and report suspected misconduct, security violations, or disruptive behavior.
  • Maintain the confidentiality and security of testing materials and records. (25%)
  • Prepare, secure, and maintain testing materials and documentation. Maintain accurate testing records and files in accordance with state and institutional requirements. (10%)
  • Administer testing under approved accommodations for candidates with documented disabilities while ensuring compliance with testing guidelines. (5%)
  • Proctor GED testing in correctional facilities while complying with all facility regulations and security requirements. Attend required trainings and maintain all testing certifications. (10%)
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent *and* one year of customer service experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience administering standardized tests. Strong communication, organizational and computer skills are a must. Must be comfortable in a quiet testing environment. Must be flexible in work hours and days.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a part-time position (up to 19 hours per week) and not eligible for benefits. Position will be located on the WGTC Coweta campus and a Correctional Facility

Rate of Pay

$14 an hour, no benefits

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's degree AND Three (3) years of work related experience Note: Experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis.
