As we continue expanding across the Mid-Atlantic region, we're looking for experienced and dependable CDL Drivers to join our field teams and support the successful delivery of our civil construction projects.

Job Summary

  • Total Civil Construction is seeking experienced CDL Class A and B Drivers
  • to operate
  • Sweeper Trucks, Dump Trucks, Dump Trailers, Vac Trucks, and other commercial trucks . This role requires flexibility, as work schedules may include
  • irregular hours, nights, weekends, and on-call shifts
  • based on project needs and weather conditions.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure on-time deliveries while operating CMVs safely.
  • Adhere to all DOT, state, and company regulations

for operation.

  • Maintain accurate logs as per legal and company requirements.
  • Perform and document pre-trip and post-trip inspections .
  • Ensure compliance with all safety standards to prevent accidents and injuries.

Qualifications

  • Active Class A/B CDLs.
  • Valid DOT Medical Card (or ability to obtain one).
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test. This role is subject to federal and company drug/alcohol testing regulations.
  • Experience operating commercial motor vehicles (CMV) hauling materials is preferred . Position level and responsibilities will be assigned based on the candidate's experience and qualifications.
  • Clean driving record (must meet company insurance requirements).
  • Ability to pass a road test demonstrating CMV operation, pre/post-trip inspections, and load securing.
  • Strong knowledge of truck driving regulations and safety procedures (preferred).
  • Ability to adapt to unexpected conditions (traffic, weather, etc.).

Physical Demands

This role requires

  • Continuous use of vision (close/distance/peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment).
  • Manual dexterity and strength (use of hands, arms, and feet for equipment operation).
  • Frequent standing, talking, and hearing.
  • Lifting/moving up to 10 lbs.
  • Occasional walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.

Work Environment

Expect to work in

  • Outdoor job sites with exposure to varying weather conditions.
  • Construction zones with heavy equipment and moving mechanical parts.
  • Loud noise environments and occasional exposure to dust or fumes.
