About The Role

Community Lead

  • social media | creator community | commercial growth
  • Full-Time • Hybrid • NYC or LA

About Tape

  • Tape is building the media infrastructure for how IRL culture is discovered, shared, and amplified.
  • The founding team includes experienced media, technology, and entertainment executives.
  • We're looking for a Community Lead to help grow Tape's membership, creator network, and cultural influence.

The Role

Tape is looking for a Community Lead to oversee three of our most important growth engines: our social audience, our community of cultural tastemakers, and our creator amplification programs.

You will lead Tape's social presence, recruit and activate a network of creators and cultural insiders, and develop creator-led opportunities for partners. Success in this role means growing our membership, expanding our creator community, increasing content creation and engagement, and generating new partnership opportunities.

This is a highly entrepreneurial role with significant ownership and visibility across the business.

You live at the intersection of culture, content, community, and commerce. You're equally comfortable building a content strategy, cultivating creator relationships, and showing up at events to make sure great experiences get discovered and shared.

What You'll Do

Social Growth

  • Lead Tape's social strategy across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms.
  • Create and optimize content that drives audience growth, engagement, and brand awareness.
  • Capture and produce content from events, partnerships, and cultural moments.
  • Analyze performance and continuously test new formats and growth opportunities.

Community Growth

  • Recruit, onboard, and activate creators, tastemakers, and cultural insiders.
  • Build relationships with creators, artists, founders, and influencers.
  • Develop creator programs that drive content creation, participation, and audience growth.
  • Help establish Tape as a trusted platform for discovering and sharing cultural experiences.

Partnerships & Revenue

  • Develop relationships with brands, venues, festivals, and cultural organizations looking to engage creators and reach culture-forward audiences.
  • Help develop creator-led solutions for brands, venues, festivals, and cultural organizations.
  • Collaborate across partnerships, marketing, and content teams.
  • Track KPIs and identify opportunities to scale audience, creator, and revenue growth.

What We're Looking For

  • 3–7+ years of experience in social media, creator partnerships, community building, or audience development.
  • Proven success growing social audiences, communities, or consumer brands.
  • Deep understanding of social platforms, creator ecosystems, content strategy, and community-led growth.
  • Strong content creation, storytelling, and copywriting skills.
  • Experience building relationships with creators, influencers, artists, or cultural communities.
  • Data-driven, highly organized, and comfortable operating in a startup environment.
  • Passion for culture, experiences, and discovering what's next.
  • Existing relationships within NYC creative, media, arts, hospitality, music, fashion, or nightlife communities.
  • Experience supporting influencer campaigns, creator activations, or brand partnerships.
  • Familiarity with Canva, CapCut, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools.

Success in This Role

  • Success will be measured by audience growth, creator community growth, creator participation, content output, engagement, and new partnership opportunities.
  • This role has the potential to evolve into a broader community and creator leadership position as Tape grows.

Contract

Full-time independent contractor working on a hybrid schedule from either our Brooklyn HQ or Los Angeles office.

Compensation is $5,000–$7,500 per month ($60,000–$90,000 annualized) , depending on experience and qualifications. Candidates should be comfortable attending events throughout New York City, including occasional evenings and weekends.
